Questions people ask first.
What do I need to run Frames?
A Mac with Apple Silicon on macOS 13 or later, and a Claude Pro, Max or Ultra plan or an Anthropic API key. Keys for ElevenLabs and Gemini are optional, since the local voice works without any key.
What does a video cost?
A 30 second video used about $7 of Claude at API prices in our measured runs, and the voice adds a few cents. On a Claude plan you already pay for it costs nothing extra while the plan's limits hold. See what each price is made of.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You write what you want in plain words and click on what you want changed. The scenes are code so that Claude can change one object without redrawing the rest.
How long can a video be?
Up to ten minutes. You pick the length in the prompt, and the script is written to fit it.
Can I use my own voice?
Yes. Give Claude a recording of the script. It cleans the audio, shortens long pauses and times every word, and the scenes are cut to your voice.
Where do my videos and files live?
On your Mac, in Documents/Frames. Each project is a folder with the script, the voice, the scenes and the rendered mp4.
How do I get access?
Frames is invite-only while it is in beta. Request an invite below. When it is your turn you get a link that activates the app on your Mac.
